“The United Way of Queen Anne’s County is pleased to announce its “”4th annual Blooms for United Way Queen Anne’s County.”” At the awards banquet/fundraiser, there will be opportunities for everyone to take home beautiful live plants and flowers in the live and silent auction. Blooms will be held on Saturday, April 4th at the Kent Island Yacht Club from 6-9pm.
As in the past, the recurring theme of the event is “Blooms for United Way” explains Board Member and Blooms Chair,Gail Ruppe. “This is the time to celebrate new beginnings with the coming of spring”. The Yacht Club will once again be blanketed with “blooms” donated by Gary Mangum of Bell Nurseries. Local nursery wholesaler, The Conard Pyle Company, has also agreed to donate a number of their award winning rose bushes to be auctioned off.
Again this year, the United Way Board of Directors has donated a wheelbarrow full of gardening items to be raffled off, which is called the “Spring into Giving” wheelbarrow raffle. You can see the wheelbarrow on display now at BankAnnapolis, and purchase raffle tickets at 5 for $10. Tickets to the event can also be purchased at BankAnnapolis for $50 a person.
Board Member, Paula Warner with Paula’s Fine Jewelry is the Blooms Banquet Sponsor this year. “Paula gives so much of her time to serve the local community, and she doesn’t hesitate to lend financial support as well.
