Cardiologist Robert Hanna, Jr., MD, accepted an Every Day Hero award on behalf of the Telemetry nursing staff at The Memorial Hospital at Easton. A grateful patient made a donation to the Memorial Hospital Foundation to recognize the thoughtful and professional care received during a recent hospital stay.
The donor, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the Memorial Hospital Foundation,
“I would like to make a donation in honor of Dr. Robert S. Hanna, Jr., and would like to thank all of the staff who helped me on the fourth floor. They were all outstanding. They were meticulous in dispensing medicines and were sympathetic without being cloying. The staff was as close to perfect as possible!”
The Memorial Hospital Foundation implemented the Every Day Hero program to help patients and their families express appreciation for the physicians, nurses and other Shore Health System staff who add a special touch when they provide health care services. Through this program, people who have had a noteworthy experience at Memorial Hospital and at Shore Regional Cancer Center in Easton can make a financial donation to the Foundation.
“The Everyday Hero Program gives patients and their families an opportunity to acknowledge the exceptional care our employees, physicians and volunteers deliver,” says Julia Marlowe, Vice President of Philanthropy for Shore Health System. “At the same time, their donations support Shore Health System as we continue delivering our mission of exceptional care, every day.”
The Everyday Hero Program will expand to Dorchester General Hospital and the Diagnostic and Imaging Center by the end of the summer. Everyday Hero brochures and donation envelopes are available at Memorial Hospital and Shore Regional Cancer Center. Checks or credit card gifts can be made in any amount and can recognize a specific person or a whole group. A donor’s tax-deductible gift can go the Memorial Hospital Foundation general fund or it can be designated for a specific service, such as cancer care or emergency services.
