The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of at least $18,000 in coins and jewelry from a home in Centreville. Authorities say a woman reported that the property was taken during a break-in at her home on Melfield Lane while she was out of town between November 20 and 24. A home office had been ransacked, and jewelry was missing from a bedroom of another resident who also was out of town. The missing items include several Morgan silver dollars, several loose diamonds, a platinum cuff bracelet with rubies, a gold diamond and sapphire ring, gold bracelets, gold chains, and earrings with diamonds and sapphires.
