Electronic Media Advisory Board Seeking Members

The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners are looking for interested citizens to serve on the newly formed Electronic Media Advisory Board. The board will consist of five members appointed by the County Commissioners.

The board’s main charge will be to promote the use of and monitor the government access channel and the Queen Anne’s County web page, make recommendations with respect to cable television franchises in the county and monitor compliance with cable franchise agreements in the county.

The board will also pursue and recommend funding sources for the government access channel and its operations and may be asked to conduct surveys to gauge public use and satisfaction with the channel and web page, as well as receive and review any comments and complaints concerning the channel, its operations and the web page. The board will also provide recommendations to the County Commissioners on the operation of the channel.

Board members will initially serve staggered terms and serve three year terms thereafter.
