Glenn Shiring returns to the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council’s Centre for the Arts this fall to teach homeschoolers in both guitar and mixed media art. Shiring has released ten solo and group albums and performs at festivals, nightclubs and special events. He is both a professional musician and artist.
Guitar Jam for Homeschoolers begins Tuesday,September 16 from 1:30-2:30pm. The cost for this four-week class is $65 and $60 for Arts Council members. Beginners to advanced students can study acoustic, electric, bass, or slide guitar according to their experience level and will be encouraged to explore improvisational approaches to music.
Mixed Media Art for Homeschoolers begins Tuesday, September 16 from 12-1pm. The cost is $65 and $60 for Arts Council members. Students learn from demonstrations and individual instruction in a focused and inspired studio environment while creating a variety of mixed media projects. Materials will be provided by instructor. Registration deadline for both classes is September 9.
The Center for the Arts classes are designed to renew existing artistic interests, and to develop new skills.
