Local Car Dealers Investigated For Missing Paperwork

The Queen Anne’s County State Attorney’s office is investigating consumer complaints on two local car dealers. Chesapeake Motors and Ackridge Automotive are being investigated after car buyers claimed they bought a car, but could not get the title and other paperwork. Ackridge Automotive’s owner is being sued after a deal to buy other dealerships fell through at the last minute. William Ackridge says Chrysler Finance and Haak Motors froze his dealership’s assets as part of the legal dispute. The State Attorney’s Office reportedly is not ruling out the possibility of criminal charges
