The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is honoring former U.S. Senator Paul Sarbanes by naming its marine science center for him: The Paul S. Sarbanes Coastal Ecology Center at Assateague Island. State and local leaders attended the ceremony. Sarbanes is a Salisbury native and said he was pleased to give back to UMES.
