Marylanders will not see slot machines for several years, but the commission that decides who gets licensed for slot machines is already meeting. The Video Lottery Facility Location Commission is expected to issue a request for proposals shortly. Five licenses will be issued, and they are expected to be awarded to Anne Arundel, Cecil, Allegany, and Worcester Counties and Baltimore City. Voters approved a constitutional amendment in November for up to 15,000 slot machines. Interested parties must have their proposals in by February 2nd.
