The classic musical by Meredith Willson, this is an affectionate look at turn of the century small town life. “”The Music Man”” follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. However, his plans to skip town with the cash start to become derailed when he falls for Marian the librarian. Can he follow through with his con or will love finally win him over to a life as an upstanding small town citizen? With such remarkable and memorable songs as “”Til There Was You,”” “”The Wells Fargo Wagon,”” “”Goodnight My Someone,”” “”Lida Rose,”” “”Marian the Librarian,”” and the unforgettable “”Seventy Six Trombones”” and “”Ya Got Trouble,”” this is perhaps the most American of all classic musicals.
