Adkins Arboretum Offers New “Mother Nature” Program

Enjoy the beauty of spring, meet other moms, and wear out the little ones in time for their afternoon nap when Adkins Arboretum offers its new series of “Mother Nature” programs. Join fellow moms and tots for stroller-friendly walks through the Arboretum grounds followed by coffee, tea, treats and social time. Programs are led by Arboretum teacher Jenny Houghton and are slated for Fridays, May 14, 21, 28 and June 1 from 10 to 11:15 a.m. The fee per session for mom and child is $6 for members, $8 for the general public. Adkins Arboretum is a 400-acre native garden and preserve at the headwaters of the Tuckahoe Creek in Caroline County. Open year round, the Arboretum offers educational programs for all ages about nature and gardening. Through its Campaign to Build a Green Legacy, the Arboretum will build a new LEED-certified Arboretum Center and entranceway to broaden educational offerings and research initiatives promoting best practices in conservation and land stewardship.
