Amateur Radio HAM Club Formed in QAC

The newly formed Queen Anne’s Amateur Radio Club (QAARC) invites Queen Anne’s and surrounding county amateur radio operators and all persons interested in amateur radio to attend a meeting and consider joining the club. The club meets at 6:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Queen Anne’s County Library in Centreville (Rt. 213, Centreville). The first membership meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 4th, 2011.

The club was formed in the spring of 2010 because of a need to support amateur activity and communication in the Queen Anne’s County Area. In addition to using RACES repeaters on 146.940 (-) and 448.225 (-) MHz, some members also make voice and Morse code contacts on high frequency. Members are interested in increasing the skills and experience gained through amateur radio to further communications and electronics to benefit the public.
