Atlantic Broadband is partnering with Bloomberg Television and Cisco to present a free video Webcast from 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 28 to help local businesses develop cyber security policies and tools to protect their business and customers.
Hosted by Bloomberg Television anchor Monica Bertran, “Protect Your Business with Effective Cyber Security Strategies” is the fourth in the Solutions for Small Business series of free, interactive video Webcasts cosponsored by Atlantic Broadband that offer direct access to leading experts with advice critical to helping small businesses thrive.
“With even the smallest of businesses here driven by computer systems and Internet connectivity, they are vulnerable to cyber-threats that often go beyond the ability of anti-virus programs to protect them. We are pleased to once again use the power of our high-speed broadband service to let small business owners see, hear and discuss security strategies to better protect their businesses,” said Atlantic Broadband Senior Vice President and General Manager David Dane.
Joining host Bloomberg Television’s Bertran on the Webcast are Larry Godfrey, from Heartland Payment Systems; Rich Kissel from the National Institute of Standards & Technology; and John Marshall, small business owner of Main Street Fine Foods.
They will focus on ways small businesses can develop security policies to avoid disruptions to service and protect sensitive data, which are crucial for peace of mind to customers and other key stakeholders. For example: What does developing a cyber security strategy mean? Is it about more than simply keeping anti-virus/anti-malware subscriptions up to date? What tools are available to help small businesses be Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant, manage risk and maintain high levels of availability and trust with customers? And, how can investments in cyber security be leveraged to enhance a small business’ position in the marketplace?
Webcast participants will be able to ask questions in a live discussion powered by Cisco’s WebEx and TelePresence® collaboration solutions.
The webcast is free and those interested in participating can register at www.solutionsforsmallbusiness.com. The Web site also will provide additional resources for small businesses, including white papers delving more deeply into the Webcast topics and podcasts with other small business thought leaders.
