Austin Folk-Rocker BETTYSOO Hits the Avalon’s Stoltz Listening Room – Friday, 11/19

A petite, freckle-faced artist, BettySoo packs unexpectedly large vocals, combined with intelligent and riveting songs. The Asian singer/songwriter, who calls Texas home, recently released her third studio album, Heat Sin Water Skin. She’s touring in support of that release, and as luck would have it, arrives in Easton’s own Stoltz Listening Room (Avalon Theatre, 2nd Floor) on Friday, Nov. 19th at 8pm. Tickets are still available at the Avalon Box Office at 410.822.7299, or online at avalontheatre.com.

William Michael Smith (Houston Press) writes that BettySoo is the “real deal” and “Patti Griffin’s heir apparent.” Rod Ames in his popular music blog predicts that, “We will all be hearing a lot more from this young Austin, Texas singer/songwriter.” Acoustic Live described BettySoo in its concert listing, “That high, clear voice takes us everywhere we need to go, in order to explore the back dusty alleys of heartbreak in the Southwest.”

BettySoo has a fairly solid listing of videos on YouTube, where the musically intrigued can get a taste of the sound TX critics and fans from all over are voicing their collective approval about.
