Avalon’s Stoltz Jazz Series Presents D.C. Jazz with the Brad Linde Quartet

The Avalon proudly presents something for the real jazz – jazz fan in its second offering of the SLR Jazz Series, this coming Thursday, February 10th at 8pm. Brad Linde – a saxophonist who leads his own groups in Washington D.C. and New York City and is part of a solid and steadily growing D.C. jazz scene, brings the D.C. version of his quartet to the Stoltz for what promises to satisfy the hungry appetites of jazz heads on the Eastern (and Western) Shores of Maryland.

Ryan Finch, house and booking manager for the Stoltz Listening Room, wants jazz listeners to know that with Linde, they’re getting the real deal. “We’re trying to satisfy many types of jazz fans with the SLR series,” says Finch. “But if you’re that guy who wants to hear the jazz you would imagine hearing at some well-known, well-hidden club in a big city, with straight ahead bebop played by musicians’ musicians – well, then you’re going to like the Brad Linde Quartet.”

Tickets for SLR Jazz Series performances are $20 and available by calling the Avalon’s Box Office at 410.822.7299, or by purchasing online via avalontheatre.com.

Tickets for the engagement are selling quickly, most likely due to Linde’s reputation. After all, the saxophonist has shared the stage with some heavier jazz names, including Lee Konitz, Marcus Roberts, Conrad Herwig, Ray Vega, Jason Marsalis, and Slide Hampton.
