CB&T Robbery

Chestertown police are searching for a lone suspect who held up the Chesapeake Bank and Trust, 301 Morgnec Road in Chestertown early Tuesday afternoon. Corporal William McFarland of the Kent Bureau of Investigation described the suspect as a black male 40 to 50 years old, with some facial hair, about 5-foot-9-inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a brown parka with a dark skullcap and black pants. He said the investigation had identified “a person of interest.”

Police Chief Robert Edler said that no weapon had been displayed, but that the suspect threatened to use one. He said the suspect, after obtaining an undetermined amount of cash, left the scene on foot. He reportedly fled toward College Heights, to the south of the bank. He said that witnesses did not recognize the suspect. There was no report of injuries.

McFarland said that anyone with information on the case should call the Chestertown Police Department at 410-778-1800 or KBI at 410-778-0490.
