Christ Church Easton Receives Gift of 1936 Steinway Model L Grand Piano

The Music Ministry of Christ Church Easton is pleased to announce the arrival of a 1936 Steinway Model L Grand Piano, which was gifted to the church by the late Mrs. Margaret Nuttle in August of 2009.  A long-time member and friend of Christ Church, Mrs. Nuttle was a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music and an accomplished pianist.  She desired that her piano be given to Christ Church to benefit the musical life of the parish and its ministry to the community.  Additionally, Mrs. Nuttle , made possible the piano’s full and extensive restoration which was completed over the course of eight months by Frederic Hickman, a registered craftsman and piano technician in Baltimore, Maryland, and Kevin Hancock of Morovia, Maryland.

A formal dedication will take place on Sunday, May 2 at the 11:00 am worship service.  During the service, special selections will be featured showcasing this beautiful instrument.  All are invited to attend.

Wes Lockfaw, Minister of Music for Christ Church Easton, gratefully acknowledges, “We are honored and so very appreciative to be the recipient of this magnificent instrument from Margaret Nuttle.  Her gift will have a far–reaching and lasting impact, enlivening our music ministry both here at Christ Church Easton and in the community.”
