On Saturday, October 16, friends of the Memorial Hospital Foundation stepped out for an evening of fun that raised over $75,000 for Shore Regional Cancer Center.
The “Step Up for the Hospital” fundraiser began with a reception at Scossa Restaurant & Lounge. The main event was a performance by the Capitol Steps at the Avalon Theater. The packed house enjoyed a series of skits by this troupe of political satirists who take credit for putting the “mock” in democracy.
Since Shore Regional Cancer Center opened on Idlewild Avenue in Easton 20 years ago, the facility has been expanded twice and new technology and services are continually being added for residents of the five-county Mid-Shore region. Funds raised from “Step Up for the Hospital” will be used to update Shore Regional Cancer Center with features that enhance patient comfort.
