Dinner Before the Show at Kent Island High School to Benefit CASA

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Queen Anne’s & Kent Counties is hosting a “Dinner Before the Show” on Saturday, March 5, prior to the Kent Island High School Thespian Troupe’s performance of “Hairspray.” Dinner will be served from 6:00 to 7:15 pm in the Kent Island High School cafeteria.

The menu includes pepper steak and rice, baked ziti, Caesar salad, bread, dessert and beverages. Tickets for the dinner are $10 per person and can be reserved by calling the CASA office at (410) 758-8610. Tickets for the play can be purchased from the theatre box office the night of the show and are $10 for adults and $8 for students and children.

“All the food for this dinner has been donated by local businesses,” according to Susan Vianna, chair of the fund raising committee for CASA. “We are very grateful to Adam’s Ribs, The Narrows Restaurant, My Best Friend – Personal Chef/Cake Designer, Acme and Safeway for sponsoring this event. Their generosity will allow us to maximize the proceeds which will directly benefit children in need of assistance.”

Proceeds from this event will be used to support CASA’s mission to advocate for the best interests of children who are under the protection of the court system because of abuse, neglect or abandonment. CASA provides trained volunteer advocates to make assessments and recommendations to the court, with the goal of securing a safe, permanent home for every child.
