Estate Treasures, an upscale resale shop operated by Hospice of Queen Anne’s volunteers, celebrates its 23rd birthday with a sale on Saturday, May 17. The party begins when the store opens at 9:23 a.m. and will continue until closing at 4:23 p.m.

Estate Treasures features gently worn fine clothing, career and formal apparel, fashion accessories, jewelry, home furnishings, small antiques and other donated “treasures.”

The first 100 shoppers who come to the shop on May 17 will receive an eco-friendly shopping bag. All merchandise will be reduced by 23 percent for the birthday celebration. Other events include a 50/50 raffle, drawings for Estate Treasures gift certificates and chances to win jewelry. Birthday cake will be served at noon.

Throughout the day special birthday bargains will be announced at 23 minutes past the hour. The first special at 10:23 a.m. will feature women’s tops and men’s shirts priced at $4.

The Estate Treasure volunteers create a pleasant shopping experience Monday through Saturday every week. “Our goal is to raise $2,300 during our birthday celebration,” says Linda Sheets, who co-manages Estate Treasures with Renie Madonna. “We are always looking for new ways to improve how we do business and to boost sales so that we can continue to support Hospice of Queen Anne’s through our donations. For example, we now accept credit and debit cards, making it more convenient for our shoppers to take advantage of our everyday bargains.”

In 2013, Estate Treasures donated a record-breaking $112,414 to Hospice of Queen Anne’s primarily from shop sales and special fundraising events. Total donations to Hospice of Queen Anne’s from Estate Treasures over its 23 years of operation have been more than $1,800,000.

Estate Treasures is located in Chester at 17 Kent Towne Market. For more information about Estate Treasures, call 410-643-7360. To learn more about volunteer opportunities and services provided by Hospice of Queen Anne’s, call 443-262-4100 or visit online at
