Hospice of Queen Anne’s chose Pat Porter as the April Volunteer of the Month. Porter is a grief services volunteer, who makes phone calls to family members following the death of a loved one.
Courtney Williams, manager of volunteer and professional services for Hospice of Queen Anne’s, says, “Pat’s ability to problem solve and her role as a reliable and dedicated resource for the bereavement department earned her this award. Our staff is very appreciative of the help that she provides regularly.”
Hospice of Queen Anne’s relies on more than 300 volunteers of all ages to perform administrative tasks, assist with events, visit patients and lend a hand in the gardens at the Hospice Center located at 255 Comet Drive in Centreville. Volunteers also operate Estate Treasures, an upscale resale shop that raises funds for Hospice of Queen Anne’s.
