On Thursday, October 21st, Hospice of Queen Anne’s hosted a Clergy Appreciation Breakfast at the Hospice Center in Centreville, Md. Clergy form every denomination throughout the county were invited to attend. Heather Guerieri, Executive Director of the Hospice of Queen Anne’s opened the Breakfast meeting and welcomed all in attendance. The Breakfast was prepared and provided through the generosity of HQA’s staff and volunteers. A Litany of thanksgiving was shared after the breakfast meeting.
Phyllis Ranlinski, HQA’s Spiritual Care Coordinator facilitated the meeting and announced upcoming events including Grief Management support group, the Tree of Lights ceremony and End of Life conference.
Reaching out to the religious community and their congregations is just one of the ways we let people know we are here to help. As Marilynn Grossman, Community Outreach Coordinator shared at the meeting, “if someone in your congregation has a serious or terminal illness or is suffering following the death of a friend or loved one, Hospice of Queen Anne’s has the programs and experienced staff to help.”
Kenda Leager, Development Officer, told those in attendance that HQA depends on the community for help. “Many of our programs including our Bereavement Camp for children, our bereavement counseling for adults, and our pre-hospice Bridges program would not be possible without the help of the public since they are 100% unfunded.”
