More illegal fishing nets and some 20,000 tons of illegally-caught rockfish were seized in the Chesapeake Bay off Kent Island by Maryland Natural Resources Police. In a second incident, a 900-yard anchored gill net with three tons of fish was found off Bloody Point, but no suspects have been identified. Sergeant Art Windemuth with Natural Resources Police says catching illegal fishing setups is a constant battle, and last week they stumbled upon some nets that were full. He says other nets have been seized that barely contained any fish. Rockfish usually sell for around three-dollars per pound, enough for fishermen to risk getting caught.
