As a service to private landlords and realtors, the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office hosted a Landlord Training Program focusing on Applicant Screening, Rental Agreements, Warning Signs of Drug Activity, The Role of Police, Crisis Resolution and a review of Maryland Landlord / Tenant Laws including the eviction process.
Guest speakers include Sheriff R. Gery Hofmann, States Attorney Lance G. Richardson, a representative from HUD and members of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office and Drug Task Force.
The first of two sessions was held at the Holiday Inn Express in Grasonville. The first session was two evenings, Tuesday March 16th and Thursday March 18th from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. A second one day class will be held on Saturday, April 17th from 8 AM to 3 PM.
The cost is $15.00 per person and includes a Landlord Guide Book and refreshments. You did not have to be a resident of Queen Anne’s County to attend.
The first session was attended by over 40 persons who found the training extremely beneficial. One landlord stated “If had this information a year ago I’d have saved over $20,000 and much frustration.”
