More Waterman Charged With Taking Illegal Oysters

The Maryland Natural Resources Police charged two men for catching oysters on a sanctuary and for possession of unculled and undersize oysters. A NRP officer on patrol spotted Patrick Barlet Murphy, 48, and Glenn Marshall Foster, 27, both from Tilghman, in the marked Tangier Sound Oyster Sanctuary. Upon inspection, 15.5 bushels of oysters were on their vessel, the Azelyn Leslie, of which 10-percent was found to be unculled and undersize. A court date of February 17, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. has been set in the District Court of Maryland in Somerset County.
