Registration Open: Themed Summer Camps Announced For Area Pre-schoolers To Teens

Summertime presents one of those Catch 22 situations for most parents. Gone are the evenings of plowing through homework and the endless searches through backpacks for the field trip permission slip or that important note from their child’s school. With this seemingly carefree time comes the inevitable realization that you need to engage your child in a safe and somewhat productive, and fun activity while you are at work. Fortunately summer program opportunities often foot the bill.

Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers, Easton, Md., has announced its summer program offerings at two locations in Easton as well as St. Michaels, Cordova and Trappe. Each camp session is one week in length and is programmed with a unique theme. Sessions are operated from 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Camp for pre-schoolers ranges from $88 to $150 per week and school-age program ranges from $78 to $120 per week. Costs vary by program and age. Breakfast, a lunch supplement and a snack is included.

Themes include: Wild, Wild West; Beach Goers; Art; Splish, Splash; Mystery Week; Ahoy Matey; Medieval Adventures; Classy Chefs; Green Team (environmental); and Summer Olympics 2012. Each themed camp features age-appropriate activities, and many weeks include field trips and visits from special speakers. All locations will offer two weeks of swimming lessons as well. Parents/guardians who enroll their school-age children for all 10 weeks of summer camp will receive one week free. Tuition assistance is available.
