Second Saturday Artist Demonstration at the Foundry

The Foundry will host a free artist demonstration by Foundry artist Sharon Malley, as part of the Second Saturday series offered at The Foundry, Caroline County Council of Arts’ (CCCA) community art gallery. Sharon Malley grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, as did her ancestors for many generations before her. After drawing and painting her way through high school, she earned an undergraduate degree in art education. After a rewarding career in the field of intellectual disabilities using creative arts therapies, she now considers herself a “re-emerging” artist and is enjoying a second life! Most of Sharon’s art is symbolic of her personal stories, inner life, and spirituality. Her primary desire is to share the voice, the experience, in a way that others might relate, and delight in the interpretation. She works mainly in oils, building on layers and often incorporating a variety of media with the paint to create texture, depth, and an element of whimsy. Some of her happiest moments are when painting, and she hopes you enjoy her work!

Over 40 Caroline County artists’ works are now on display at The Foundry, which is open Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Free demonstrations and activities from a variety of artists are held the second Saturday of every month from 2-4 p.m. At The Foundry, Denton. 2-4 p.m. Free. 410-479-1009.
