Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Fashion Follies II

Volunteers from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are busily working on the second annual Fashion Show and Luncheon to benefit the needy of Talbot County!

The Fashion Follies II Show and Luncheon will feature men and women’s clothing from the SVDP Thrift Center and a creative luncheon prepared with food available from the Food Pantry.

A Gently Used Fashion & Jewelry Boutique will offer wonderful bargains for the shoppers who attend. Look for new and gently used housewares and decorative items too! Doors will open early at 11 am Saturday, March 19, 2011 for boutique shopping with the luncheon and fashion show beginning at 12:30 pm. More shopping after the show too!

All committee members for the Fashion Follies will be wearing fashions for sale from the Thrift Center! Colleen Gabler, our fashion consultant, will help models dress for the show and will be available for personal appointments and consultation. Our Mistress of Ceremonies, Lynn Sanchez, always puts style and humor into all the fashion descriptions. Tickets for show and luncheon are $10.00.

Alex Handy, Society President, notes that “the Fashion Follies is a real ‘win-win’ for St. Vincent de Paul. It’s fun for those who participate and it sure helps out with funding for our Food Pantry where we spent over $63,000 on groceries last year.”

On Friday March 18, 2011 the Society is holding a Preview Cocktail Party from 7 to 9 pm. There will be a cash bar along with delicious and plentiful hot and cold hors d’oeuvres. The evening’s highlights include an upscale silent auction, gourmet international dinner auction, wine raffle, advance sales of Follies Boutique items, and a 50/50 cash raffle. A preview of Saturday’s fashions will be the entertainment for the evening. Dress is evening attire. Tickets are $15.00 each or two for $25.00.

So, mark your calendars for Friday March 18 for our Preview Party and Saturday March 19 for the Fashion Show and Luncheon at the Knights of Columbus Hall, South & Park Streets in Easton. For tickets or to make a donation please call 410-745-2299.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a national faith-based charity within the parish of St. Peter and Paul of Talbot County. They are one of the county’s major providers of food for the hungry. They also collect clothing, furniture and housewares via their facilities on Commerce Drive in Easton.
