With two daughters, Jim Wolf was going to become somewhat of an expert on weddings, like it or not. When one of his daughters wanted a vintage-inspired wedding, they searched the area looking for vendors who offered rustic style tables and tableware, but found that very few specialized in this genre.
So in June of 2012, after much research, Jim and his wife opened Vintage Affairs. Specializing in vintage farm tables, unique tableware and beautiful set pieces, Vintage Affairs gives that touch of class and history that isn’t often found. All of the tables, which vary in size from 8 feet long to 5 foot square, are Amish made in Pennsylvania or found in antique stores or estate sales. “All of the pieces have a history, a story to tell.” says Jim. “In many cases, the wood used in the table is over 100 years old.”
For those wanting a rustic, old-fashioned look, you can choose a straight leg. For those wanting a little more elegance, Vintage Affairs offers turned leg tables. They also offer tableware including Royal Doulton fine china, trunks, lighting and more. They have gold-rimmed china, and these can be mixed and matched to create a very personal and individualized look.
Regardless of what you choose, the set up and take down are done for you. Everything is set up before the event and given a “white glove inspection,” making sure everything is perfect and ready to go. If a table is scratched or damaged, another one will be brought in to replace it.
Jim says the most rewarding part if his business is “being able to share in a small part in one of the most important days of people’s lives.” You can view their full gallery at www.vintageaffairs.net or give them a call at 410-215-2466 for more information.
