Four Winds Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce the rescheduled performance of this world-renowned choral group. The concert is May 8, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Four Winds Performing Arts Center co-located inside Christ Church Kent Island at 830 Romancoke Rd. The Morgan State University Choir, under the direction of Dr. Eric Conway, is a body of singers known for its tradition of excellence. This prestigious choir has performed with big-name orchestras throughout the country including recent concerts at New York’s Carnegie Hall with Bobby McFerrin and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and again at Carnegie Hall with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under Marin Alsop’s baton.
The choir’s program for this concert includes its signature spirituals, some contemporary pieces, selections from Broadway, and more.
The critically-acclaimed Morgan State University Choir has performed recently in Colombia, South America and at an international choral festival in South Africa. These international trips, concerts across the United States and its performances closer to home make them cultural ambassadors for their school, their city and the state of Maryland. The high-level of quality these performers provide neatly fits into Four Winds Performing Arts Center’s mission.
Four Winds Performing Arts Center aims to bring excellent, Maryland-based performers to audiences on the eastern shore for entertainment, education and enjoyment. This group will take the roof off the concert hall. Don’t miss it!
